Real-life and fictional police action blended on the set of NBC’s cop drama Shades of Blue Wednesday night. I hear there were men with guns who interrupted the location shoot of the show in the Bedford–Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York.
Word is that shots were fired, there was chaos and police were called. I hear star Jennifer Lopez had just left for the day but recurring guest star Kathryn Kates was there, with two female PAs banging on the door of her trailer as they were allegedly being chased by the perpetrators.
There was gunfire in the streets where the series was filming, I am told. I hear police swarmed the area and quickly took control over the situation. While a number of cast and crew members are shaken, sources close to the production say that everyone on the show is safe. We have reached to NYPD for comment.
Shades of Blue, an NYPD crime thriller starring Lopez, Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo, is currently filming its second season for a midseason premiere.
