Rylan Clark has denied recent rumours that he and Emma Willis are due to replace Caroline Flack and Olly Murs as co-presenters of ‘The X Factor’ next year.
Reports emerged last Friday (December 11th), first reported by the Daily Star, indicated that Simon Cowell was in the mood to shake up the ITV show ahead of the 2016 edition. Murs, 31, and Flack, 36, have co-presented for just one series, after they replaced long-time host Dermot O’Leary earlier this year.
Caroline Flack could be on her way out as presenter of ‘The X Factor’, if reports are true
However, during an appearance on ‘This Morning’, Clark seemed to dismiss the claims, saying: “Emma texted me this morning saying have you seen the paper. Saw it and, look, if there is any truth in this, then it’s the first I’ve thought of it.” He added: “But I do think Olly and Caroline have done a great job.”
If he was chosen, 27 year old Rylan would be returning to the show that launched him to fame (just like Murs, incidentally). He finished fifth in the ninth series of ‘The X Factor’ back in 2012, and he and Emma Willis have presented ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’, a spin-off show from the Channel 5 reality show, since 2013.

A source had said: “It would cause fireworks poaching Emma and Rylan off ‘Big Brother’ but Simon usually gets what he wants. He nicked Alesha Dixon off ‘Strictly’ to be a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and Rita Ora from ‘The Voice’ for ‘The X Factor’.”
It comes soon after Murs made a spectacular blunder while announcing the elimination of contestant Monica Michael last month, revealing that she was going home before the official result was unveiled. It caused many to speculate that he would be getting the sack, with others questioning whether the show was fixed.
On Sunday night, 17 year old Louisa Johnson became the youngest ever winner of ‘The X Factor’, and she’s currently in the race for the British Christmas Number 1 single with the winners’ single, a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’.
