ROBIN Roberts apparently thought Josh Elliott was “too demanding” in his salary negotiations with their bosses at Good Morning America.
On Sunday, it was revealed that Good Morning America news anchor Josh is leaving the show to join NBC Sports. He will be replaced by Amy Robach.
Robin — who was said to be instrumental in GMA‘s rise to the top of the ratings — recently inked a long-term deal worth around $14 million a year.
Josh was reportedly demanding a whopping $8 million to remain on GMA. At the time, he was said to be making around $1.2 million per year.
“Robin has nothing but respect for Josh — even though he was said to be jealous of her new Good Morning America deal,” a source said.
“But she thought he was being way too demanding by asking their bosses for $8 million a year!
“Josh’s contract negotiations were affecting morale on the GMA set, so Robin is glad they’re over. She’s just sad she is losing a talented colleague.”
Robin was recently urged to protect her $125 million fortune with an iron-clad prenup before marrying girlfriend Amber Laign.
Robin came out via a Facebook post on Dec. 29 — and is ready to tie the knot with her leggy blonde lover.
“Robin’s family and friends are overjoyed that she can now seek the life she wants with the woman she truly loves,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“But at the same time, they’re concerned that if the two ever divorce, Robin could lose half the fortune she’s earned as one of morning TV’s highest paid personalities.
