Lionsgate/Summit’s reboot of Robin Hood will land in theaters on March 23, 2018, the company announced tonight. Peaky Blinders’ Otto Bathurst directs Taron Egerton (Robin Hood), Jamie Foxx (Little John), Jamie Dornan (Will Scarlett), Eve Hewson (Maid Marian) and Paul Anderson in what is expected to be a darkly toned title that follows the classic hero following his Crusades battles. Returning to the Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood finds it rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws, and they take matters into their own hands, leading a revolt against the corrupt English crown.
Robin Hood is being produced by Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Safe House’s Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk. Harold also is penning the script. Robin Hood will own all the Imax screens on its release date and battle against Sony’s Peter Rabbit and Fox/Blue Sky’s feature adaptation of Bruce Zick’s book Anubis.
