The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is out with its shortlist for Documentary Feature hopefuls for the 89th Oscars. Including such high-profile pics as O.J.: Made in America, 13th, Weiner and Tower, those surviving the cut from the 145 films originally submitted in the category are:

The Academy’s Documentary Branch determined the shortlist in a preliminary round of voting. Branch members now will select the five nominees from among the 15 titles. Nominations for the 89th Annual Academy Awards will be announced on January 24, and the trophy ceremony is set for for February 26 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
