The martial arts film, a spin-off from 2014’s The Lego Movie, is based on the popular Lego toys and will follow six young ninjas as they fight to defend their island by night while battling through high school by day.

Jackie Chan had already been set to voice Sensei Wu, alongside co-stars Dave Franco, Michael Pena, and Fred Armisen, and now X-Men: Apocalypse actress Munn and Zoolander’s Theroux have been added to the line-up.

Tron: Uprising director Charlie Bean will take charge of the project, with The Lego Movie filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller among the producers.

The Lego Ninjago Movie is set for release in September, 2017, seven months after The Lego Batman Movie hits theatres in February (17).

Will Arnett will reprise his role as the voice of the miniature Caped Crusader, with Ralph Fiennes playing Alfred the Butler.

Fellow cast members include Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Michael Cera as Batman’s sidekick Robin, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, while singer Mariah Carey will voice Mayor Marion Grange. Previous reports had suggested the Hero hitmaker would tackle Commissioner Gordon, which is traditionally a male character, portrayed on the big screen by the likes of Pat Hingle and Gary Oldman. Ben MCKenzie currently plays Gordon as a young police officer in hit TV series Gotham.

There are also plans afoot for The Lego Movie Sequel, which will be directed by Community’s Rob Schrab for release in 2019.
