Full Frontal host Samantha Bee, conducting her first interview with President Obama, asked him to tell a spooky story in honor of Halloween about what happens if people don’t vote.
“Donald Trump could be president,” Obama related.
Too easy.
Bee decided she could make it even scarier, suggesting Corey Lewandowski might become a Supreme Court justice.
“I’m not sure I’m going to sleep tonight,” Obama responded.
Obama visited her TBS show to urge young people to vote. Bee wondered, if sitting down with a 47 year old mother of three was his best idea how to reach millennials, what was his worst idea.
Obama said he hoped if young viewers are concerned about the cost of college, and about the environment, they would take as much time as they spend looking at cat videos on their phones, to make sure democracy is working.
Should Hillary Clinton be elected our next POTUS, Bee wondered what would be the “female equivalent” of saying the president was not born in this country, a suggestion to which Obama was subjected for years, especially by Trump.
Obama guessed people would say she is tired, she’s moody, she’s being emotional, as Trump has already.
“After you leave office, have you thought of just whispering in Donald Trump’s ear, ‘You were right, I wasn’t born here,’ just to mess with him?” Bee asked.
“I think it’s fair to say that I will be organizing my post presidency where I’m not close enough to him to whisper in his ear,” Obama assured her.
