My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero is in a “stable condition” amid reports that he was involved in a horrific bus crash in the Australian city of Sydney.
The 34 year old was said to have been seriously injured when a bus crashed into the touring van he was helping to unload outside the Metro Theatre venue on Park Street in the city on Thursday (October 13th).
Currently touring Australia with his band Frank Iero & The Patience, the guitarist was unpacking the van with another band member when the bus crashed into them at 3:50pm local time.

One man was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital, while another was airlifted from the crash scene. A third man escaped serious injury and was treated on the scene instead. Park Street has been closed until further notice as police carry out their investigations.
No passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash, but the driver has reportedly been taken to hospital for mandatory tests.

Fans of Iero and his parent band My Chemical Romance soon took to social media to voice their concern and offer their well wishes.
“I’m afraid I don’t have many details I was not at the venue when the accident happened, but I have been told everyone is in a stable condition,” the group’s bass player Alexander Paul tweeted a few hours after the accident. “Thank you for your well wishes guys.”
A statement from promoters Live Nation also confirmed that the band’s show, set to be the last of the tour, was cancelled due to what it described as “unforeseen circumstances.” Ticket holders have been offered automatic refunds.
