Morrissey has launched new single ‘Bobby, Don’t You Think They Know’ from his upcoming 13th studio album.
The former Smiths frontman dropped the lead observe from his upcoming document, ‘I Am Not a Dog On a Chain’ – the follow-up to 2019’s ‘California Son’ – on Friday (10.01.20).
Morrissey recruited Grammy-winning Motown star Thelma Houston for the epic duet, who stated: ”One of the largest joys for me on this enterprise is getting the chance to collaborate with different prime artists.
”I really like the problem to see if what I do can work with what they’re doing. Sometimes it really works, and generally it would not.
”I feel the mix of what Morrissey is singing and what I’m singing actually works on ‘Bobby’.
”And it was quite a lot of enjoyable working with M within the studio too!”
The ‘Mute Witness’ singer’s long-time producer, Joe Chicarelli, has teased that the upcoming LP, which is launched through BMG on March 20, is ”the boldest and most adventurous” document ever recorded by Morrissey.
He added: ”I’ve now produced 4 studio albums for Morrissey.
”This is his boldest and most adventurous album but.
”He has pushed the boundaries but once more – each musically and lyrically.
”And as soon as once more proving that as a songwriter and singer, he’s in his personal class. In fact, nobody could be Morrissey however … Morrissey!”
The 60-year-old musician beforehand described the gathering of tracks, recorded in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in France, as: ”The easiest of me … too good to be true … too true to be good.”
BMG are additionally re-issuing remasters of a number of Morrissey information.
