Miles Teller has made it clear he’s not happy. He’s also made it clear that he’s not a dick.
The actor took to Twitter today to call out Esquire magazine for referencing the September issue cover star’s “dickishness” in their recent interview, saying the entire thing is “very misrepresentating.”
couldn’t be more wrong,” Teller wrote after the mag’s Twitter account shared his cover story. “I don’t think there’s anything cool or entertaining about being a dick or an asshole. Very misrepresenting.”
Esquire originally tweeted, “Miles Teller is on a quest for greatness (with a bit of dickishness too).”
E! News has reached out to the magazine for comment.

The piece begins with, “You’re sitting across from Miles Teller at the Luminary restaurant in Atlanta and trying to figure out if he’s a dick,” and ultimately concludes that, “So yeah, he is kind of a dick. But the thing is, you agree with him: His admittedly limited body of work so far, his oeuvre—a word you define and spell for him, so who’s the dick now?—is pretty great.”
The issue, on newsstands Aug. 11, also shows the 28-year-old actor flaunting his bulging biceps and other muscles while posing with a completely naked female model.
And while many of us find these images drool-worthy, Teller himself admits that he doesn’t find himself traditionally handsome.
“I was thinking about that today, how I probably think I’m better-looking than the public thinks I am,” he laughed.
“I was in one of these forums about a film I did, and it’s like, ‘This dude is so ugly! How does he get f–king parts?’ ‘Well, he’s not, like, traditionally handsome, but…’ And that’s kind of what it is. Maybe it’s because I came from a small town, but I always did well for myself.”
