Doctors have reportedly told Michael Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato that their son Noah has a ninety per cent chance of surviving his cancer diagnosis.

Three year old Noah is currently being cared for in Los Angeles following his shocking diagnosis with liver cancer earlier this month. According to Buble’s sister-in-law, Daniela Lopilato, he is going to undergo four months of chemotherapy to fight the disease, and that her nephew is a “warrior”.

“If God wanted it to be discovered that way, it’s because he wants to save Noah,” Daniela told the Argentinian magazine Gente this week. “Cancer is a horrible illness but we have faith in Noah being able to overcome this. We know he will. The time to start a long and very difficult treatment has come but it’s got to be done.”

“They say that children are often strong enough to withstand chemotherapy,” she finished, “and my nephew is a warrior.”

Reinforcing this outlook, Dr Hilary Jones appeared on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ in Britain to state that Noah’s prospects of winning weren’t too bleak, and that children with his particular form of cancer usually survive with the benefits of modern medicine.

“Obviously cancer can affect anybody’s children as well as adults and I think a lot of people’s heart will go out to the family,” he said. “The outlook isn’t too bad for liver cancer in children… I mean 50 years ago three quarters of children with something like this would die, today three quarters will survive.”

41 year old Buble and 29 year old Lopilato announced last week that they would be putting their careers to one side for the immediate future, focussing on helping their eldest son recover.

“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” a statement via Buble’s Facebook page read. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
