Pretty Little Liars is welcoming actress Kara Royster into its tangle web in the recurring role of Yvonne, Toby’s (Keegan Allen) new mystery woman, when the ABC Family (soon-to-be Freeform) hit series returns with a five-year time jump, E! News has confirmed.
That’s right, when PLL returns on Jan. 12, a now-single Toby will be sharing a connection to Yvonne, a woman he saved who is described as smart, sleek, and classy and has been teased as “an important person in the story and his life.” She’ll make her first appearance in the fourth episode back.
Variety first reported the news of Royster’s casting.

So, what’s become of Toby and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) in the span of five years? One word: Distance. After Spencer graduated from Georgetown, she stayed in D.C., working on Capitol Hill as a lobbyist/”glorified coffee-gofer” with “high political aspirations,” Bellisario revealed during the show’s recent special. With Toby back in Rosewood, still on the police force, the miles between them became too much and the fan-favorite couple called it quits.
While Spencer has been off chasing her political dreams in D.C., Allen revealed that Toby inherited “a lot of money” after his house blown up by A, allowing him to buy acres of land outside of Rosewood to “start building his dream home.”
What do you think of Toby’s new mystery woman, PLL fans? Is she any match for Spencer? Sound off in the comments below.
