Madonna’s custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie has escalated from the court room to social media, as the former couple traded pictures via Instagram to prove who had the better Christmas holidays.
Over the festive period which she spent with three of her kids, the 57 year old pop legend posted a number of throwback pictures of her brood, including Rocco who was spending Christmas on the other side of the Atlantic with Ritchie and his new wife.
Putting up a clip of her and her eldest son laughing together, Madge wrote “Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!” Meanwhile, Ritchie’s new wife Jacqui posted a picture of their wedding day back in July, in which Rocco is standing next to them, writing “Happy Holidays with love from the Ritchies”.
Just before Christmas, various news outlets reported that Madonna had taken to court to try to force her 15 and a half year old son to board a plane back to New York so that he could be reunited with his mother in time for the holidays, a bid which failed despite Madonna being granted her request by the judge.

In the middle of it all, the teenager himself shared a short video of his Christmas spent in London, as his parents take to the law to decide where their son will live for the rest of his childhood.
Rocco is said to have become upset with his mother having spent two months following her around the world on her Rebel Heart tour. Some fans have been speculating that it might be her social media ‘oversharing’, with a number of instances in which she’s said to have embarrassed him by posting awkward moments, that has driven him away (at least temporarily).
