Over the past few years, Lily James has gone from a virtually-unknown actress to a major movie star and it seems the transition took quite an emotional toll.
In her new interview with Net-A-Porter, the “Downton Abbey” dame confessed that she had to get away for a bit following her whirlwind “Cinderella” promotional tour.
Lily shared, “I ended up backpacking with a friend in Southeast Asia, staying in huts that were £2 a night, to regain my sanity. As a younger actress, there’s a tendency to prove oneself, to go, ‘Watch! I can do this!’ But it’s about having the emotional intelligence to know what is necessary, to only do what is needed. I’m just obsessed with how and why actors are good. I’m still young enough to be enchanted and fascinated by it all.”
