Lily Allen has quite a bone to pick.
The singer was the center of reports this morning claiming that she was “giving up alcohol” in an effort to “grow up.”
But it seems like that’s not the real story, as Allen herself took to Twitter to slam the latest allegations.
“Let’s give up social media and the Mail Online. It’s killing me. That is all,” she began by writing.
“I feel like we’re not evolved enough to handle the Internet, psychologically. I preferred real records and newspapers with news in them.”
And, in true to Allen form, her Twitter spree didn’t end there.
“Everything was just better and nicer. We were nicer. And I wouldn’t be here,” she posted before replying to a journalist with, “Behaviour is learned. Hatred is more accessible than ever, and people think it’s OK to be horrible to each other as a result…Might sell my Twitter now.”

The mother of two takes the matter at hand extremely seriously, considering that she does in fact have a history of dealing with sobriety issues.
In 2006, the “Smile” singer opened up to U.K.’s Observer Music Monthly about her decision to stop drinking and get clean.
“I’ve become a character in a comic…and that character is always drunk! I wish my comic character wasn’t that,” she shared.
“I have no intention of taking drugs again at the moment. But I can’t say ‘Never again,’ because I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 years’ time. And I will definitely drink in the future, just not for a while.”
