The 60thBFI London Film Festival has added the Leonardo DiCaprio climate change documentary Before the Flood to its lineup, marking the European premiere of the doc directed by actor and environmental activist Fisher Stevens. The film will feature as a special presentation in the program on Saturday October 15.
The film follows DiCaprio as he travels to five continents and the Arctic speaking to scientists, world leaders, activists and local residents to gain a deeper understanding of the dramatic changes occurring around the world due to climate change. The film also investigates solutions to this environmental challenge.
Before the Flood is written by Mark Monroe and produced by DiCaprio, Stevens, Trevor Davidoski, Jennifer Davisson, Brett Ratner and James Packer. Martin Scorsese, Adam Bardach, Zara Duffy and Monroe exec produce. National Geographic will distribute the Ratpac Documentary Films and Appian Way production in association with Insurgent Docs and Diamond Docs.
The London Film Festival runs October 5-16.
