Kerry Washington admits ”adrenalin” is getting her through life with a young baby.
The ‘Scandal’ actress and husband Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed son Caleb – a brother for two-year-old Isabelle – into the world two months ago, and though she isn’t getting as much sleep as she would like, she is managing to get through the days without being completely exhausted.
She said: ”[I’m sleeping] enough, the adrenalin gets you through.”
The 39-year-old actress is enjoying life with two children, and though it was ”hard” for her to leave them at home to attend the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (11.12.16) evening, she knew it didn’t have to be for long.
She told E! News: ”It’s going great, it’s pretty exciting, our family keeps growing, we’re very happy.
”It’s hard to leave [them], but I’ll be back soon.”
Meanwhile, Kerry also teased the upcoming new season of ‘Scandal’ – in which she plays crisis management expert Olivia Pope – and promised fans are in for a ”crazy” time.
She told Entertainment Weekly: ”’Scandal’ will be back very soon… There is a new president, I can’t tell you who it is, but I promise it’s worth the wait. When you come back, these new episodes are crazy.”
The actress recently portrayed Anita Hill, a woman who accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment during his confirmation hearings, in TV movie ‘Confirmation’ and admitted she feels the plotline is relevant for politics in real life.
She said: ”Our film is so much about the fact that people in Washington work for us.
”This is a democracy; we have to make sure that they know that we pay their salaries. And we have to make sure that they are accountable to what we want, all of us Americans.”
