Johnny Depp reportedly has almost two dozen witnesses who will support his defence against domestic violence allegations from estranged wife Amber Heard.
The ‘Mortdecai’ actor is said to be prepared for the upcoming trial where the 30-year-old actress – who has accused him of leaving her bruised when he threw an iPhone at her face following a row in May – is seeking to have a permanent restraining order against him and has a number of people ready to testify that the ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star’s claims are false.
According to TMZ, the two police officers who responded to a 911 call following the alleged altercation will testify they saw no evidence of injury to the actress, or anything broken in their home.
And five concierges from their apartment building, who all saw Amber between May 21 – the night the alleged attack happened – and May 27 and have all stated in depositions they saw no injuries to the actress’ face.
Two security guards who were in the unit on May 21 will go on record to testify Johnny did not hit his spouse, while the former couple’s housekeeper Hilda Vargas will also give a mystery testimony.
The witness list states: ”Ms. Vargas will testify about a discovery in the home.”
In addition, Amber’s publicist, Jodi Gottleib is also on the list, with the 53-year-old actor’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, previously trying to take her deposition but she was unavailable. The press officer’s testimony is said to be important because she was believed to be present during discussions between the actress and her legal representative.
Amber herself will also be called as a hostile witness.
A number of exhibits are listed to be entered for consideration, including a report for Amber’s own 2009 arrest on domestic violence claims, and documents from her Australian dog smuggling case, in which Johnny’s lawyers will also accuse the actress of lying
when she said she didn’t know it was illegal to bring the dogs into the country.
There is also a mysterious photo, details of which are not being made available until the last minute.
The documents state: ”For privacy reasons, this exhibit is being served on petitioners [Amber and team] and will be supplied to the court at the time of hearing.”
