John Stamos‘ acceptance speech was full of gratitude Sunday night at the TV Land Icon Awards.
After receiving the Timeless Icon Award, the Full House star couldn’t help but thank his parents who would have loved having their son attend such a special ceremony.
“I wanna thank my parents. Boy, they would’ve loved this, Loretta and Bill… They were really good people,” he explained before getting emotional. “They taught me to be kind and to be generous and to be loving to everyone that you meet on this journey.”
He continued, “And appreciate every single moment you have on this planet because it’s so damn precious. I’m gonna treasure this moment, thank you.”

Many stars in the audience including John’s two sisters proceeded to give the actor a standing ovation before he surprised the crowd by appearing with the Beach Boys.
Taking a seat behind the drums, the musician began to rock out to “Barbara Ann” to the delight of the audience.
While the music was great and fans are delighted to have the actor on the small screen again thanks to his role in Fuller House, John is grateful for all those who have stayed by his side even through the hard times.
