‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is coming to the big screen for public viewing very soon. Fans are looking forward to seeing the incredible cast of old and new stars, the enormous sets that will no doubt be more awesome than ever before and the amazing journey these chracters are about to embark on. For John Boyega, however, one of the most underrated highlights of the movie is the music.
John Boyega was impressed by new John Williams score
Legendary composer John Williams returns to score the film, which is only fitting given that ‘The Imperial March’ is one of the most recognised film themes in the world. Boyega and his co-stars even got the chance to witness Williams recording the new score, which turns out to have been a mind-blowing experience.
‘We went to the Fox lot to watch John Williams score the movie and it’s just crazy to me’, says Boyega. ‘The music is so important because it drives the story, it drives the narrative and it has commentary on the undertones of emotions when it comes to each character.’

Contemplating his own character in particular, the redeemed former Stormtrooper of the First Order named Finn, he was especially impressed with the soundtrack associated with his role. ‘I must say John Williams has done very well’, he adds with a smile. ‘When Finn takes off his helmet, the music that plays makes me just go, ‘Pretty darn cool’.’

Another ‘pretty darn cool’ thing to happen to John Boyega during his ‘Star Wars’ venture (apart from, of course, landing a role in the film) was getting to meet veteran Harrison Ford who has played the pilot Han Solo in the original three movies. ‘As a fan, I knew that I was going to be able to have access to Harrison 24/7 for him to sign my merchandise’, he recalls.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ will be released in cinemas everywhere on Friday, December 18th 2015.
