Jay Z’s Roc Nation Will Now Manage Kanye West’s DONDA

Kanye West, who brands himself a ‘creative genius,’ still receives guidance from frequent collaborator, Jay Z.

The 37 year-old will now be managed by Jay’s own record label Roc Nation, and he is also bringing his creative team at DONDA to finalize the new partnership.

A press release was issued on March 3rd to announce that DONDA Music will be managed under Roc Nation, with a focus on the rap star’s international musical endeavours.

West’s production house, DONDA, was officially formed in 2011, and was responsible for designing the stage, packaging and overall tour’s image, for his and Jay’s ‘Watch the Throne’ album tour.

The press release also notes, DONDA also “oversaw the concept and design for Mr. West’s minimalist YEEZUS album packaging and ground-breaking global launch, including a guerilla-marketing campaign, the “New Slaves” projections.”

“DONDA is at the center of concept, design and production of Mr. West’s lauded concert experience, the YEEZUS TOUR,” it continued. “DONDA has designed and produced album packaging, staging, music videos and content for Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Pusha T and more.”

Roc Nation is a multi-service entertainment company, and as well as boosting clients like Rihanna, Timbaland and Rita Ora, it also manages sports stars such as NBA player Kevin Durant, and NFL star Vicotr Cruz.

Izvor Zivkovic will continue to manage West as well.

This is the second new collaboration for the ‘Power’ rapper, as he has just announced a partnership with ‘American Psycho’ author Bret Easton Ellis.

The novelist will pen a screenplay for Mr West, which will be inspired by his latest studio album ‘Yeezus’, which he just wrapped up touring for in North America.
