If you can believe it, 2019 will see the 25th anniversary of Oasis’ first album ‘Definitely Maybe’, which means that the band will finally be eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, Noel Gallagher insists he has no interest in the whole thing.

With all the talk about an Oasis reunion flying about (i.e. Liam Gallagher saying that he’d love one and Noel Gallagher vehemently shutting that idea down), it seems Noel has no plans to reunite the band for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, should they be nominated next year.

‘I’ve already been approached by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’, he told Rolling Stone last month. ‘The f***in’ fella from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame came to me and said, ‘Do you know in two years you’ll be eligible for the Hall of Fame?”

‘I said, ‘Is that right?’ He said, ‘Yes’. And he started going on, and I said, ‘Let me f***ing stop you there. I know what it is. I know what it entails, and it won’t be f***ing happening, OK?” He went on. ‘He invited me down to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame itself and showed me all these exhibits of Oasis stuff. It’s a great place and all that, but I won’t be doing it, I don’t think.’

On the other hand, he thinks he himself is worthy enough to feature in said Hall of Fame, even if it’s just in the form of a miniature bobblehead. ‘I certainly think I do [deserve a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination’, he joked. ‘There could be a little miniature of me somewhere – a tiny little thing with a wobbly head.’

Noel released his fourth album with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in November, entitled ‘Who Built the Moon?’. It featured lead single ‘Holy Mountain’.
