Universal and Blumhouse Productions are remaking ‘Black Christmas’ with Imogen Poots starring.
The 30-year-old actress – who’s finest recognized for her roles as Tammy within the 2007 horror movie ’28 Weeks Later’ and Linda Keith within the 2013 Jimi Hendrix biopic ‘Jimi: All Is by My Side’ – is about to play the lead position in Jason Blum’s upcoming re-imagining of the 1974 psychological slasher movie.
The new film is about for launch on December 13 and also will star Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt whereas Sophia Takal will helm the mission from a script written by April Wolfe.
The unique movie, which is taken into account a cult traditional, adopted a gaggle of sorority sisters who obtain threatening cellphone calls and are finally stalked and murdered by a deranged killer throughout the Christmas season.
The film was remade in 2006 by Glen Morgan starring Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Oliver Hudson, Lacey Chabert, Kristen Cloke and Andrea Martin.
Universal have determined to remake the film following the success of final 12 months’s ‘Halloween’ sequel – which takes place 40 years after the primary film, and sees Jamie Lee Curtis reprise her position as Laurie Strode.
A follow-up to that ‘Halloween’ reset can also be within the works with Scott Teems in dialogue to pen the script as Danny McBride and David Gordon Green – who wrote and directed 2018 film – will not be concerned with the following instalment within the Michael Myers slasher story.
