‘Game Of Thrones’ has for six seasons to-date managed to impress viewers around the globe with its awe-dropping action, surprising scenes, cuts to the cast and wicked storytelling.
Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen in ‘Game Of Thrones’ season 7
This year, the seventh season of the show will come a little later than usual with a premiere date set for July, while it’s also been confirmed by show bosses that the amount of episodes has been reduced from 10 to just seven.
When it does make its return however, fans will catch up with some of their favourite characters, as well as the villains plaguing the Seven Kingdoms and beyond. What exactly is in their future is now anybody’s guess however, as the show has leapfrogged where author George R.R. Martin has reached in his book series ‘A Song Of Ice And Fire’; the collection of novels that the show is based upon.
One of those characters is Jorah Mormont, played by Iain Glen. Though Jorah has been struck down with Greyscale, he’s still fighting strong to try and ensure Daenerys Targaryen ends up on the Iron Throne. But what’s next for him?
‘Game Of Thrones’ returns this July
In a new interview with Stuff, Glen has spoken a little bit about his time playing the fan-favourite character, and how his journey may soon be coming to a close.
He said: “I’ve always enjoyed playing Jorah. It’s been a role that’s been good to me so far. There’s quite a high death count in ‘Game Of Thrones’ and they don’t blanch at removing favourite characters. They just get rid of them in a brutal way. My end may well be close but so far I’m doing OK.”
Glen’s comments here obviously don’t give too much away, as he’s likely signed a series of non-disclosure agreements as to the events of the show’s seventh season, but his final words about “doing OK” up until now may be more revealing than he intended.
With filming on season 7 wrapped, could this be confirmation that Jorah Mormont will be making it through to season 8? We’ll have to wait until July to find out.
