You guys, it’s not all about the special guests at Taylor Swift‘s sold-out concerts.
While fans can often look forward to a few surprise visitors at each of the “Shake It Off” singer’s shows, they can also prepare themselves for personal, relatable confessions in between songs.
Saturday night was no different when Swift began speaking to the audience before singing “Never Grow Up.”
“I wrote it when I was like 18 or 19 but my friend just had a baby and she made me godmother of it and I was holding this little baby the other night and I was just thinking differently,” she explained when referencing Jaime King and the actress’ newborn. “When you’re holding onto something that’s so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what’s coming for it with the world. The world is going to throw so many things at you as we grow up.”

Lucky for us, there’s a song to express the feeling perfectly.
“To you, everything’s funny/You got nothing to regret,” Swift began to sing. “I’d give all I have honey/If you could stay like that.”
She continued, “Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up/Just stay this little.” Awww!
Once the speech started spreading on social media, King herself couldn’t help but watch the moment. As you could have guessed, she was deeply touched.
Taylor Swift’s famous friends
“This is so beautiful Tay,” the Hart of Dixie star wrote on Twitter. “Leo Thames is so blessed.”
Less than three weeks ago, Swift was able to meet King’s second child for the first time. The interaction was captured on Instagram where the singer quoted lyrics from “Never Grow Up.”
“I always thought if I were to have another child that she would be the ideal godmother because the way she not only treats me but the way she treats other human beings,” King exclusively told E! News at the premiere of Dior and I. “She’s so loving and so giving and so generous and she does everything from her heart and she’s incredibly brave and authentic. It’s a very rare thing to come across.”
