Giovanna Fletcher will star in the London Musical Theatre Orchestra’s production of ‘A Christmas Carol’.
The author – who is married to McFly’s Tom Fletcher – will co-star alongside her sister-in-law Carrie Hope Fletcher in the production, which will be staged at the Lyceum Theatre on December 19.
Giovanna and Carrie will play the roles of Mrs Crachit and Emily respectively, alongside BAFTA, Tony and three-time Olivier award winning actor Robert Lindsay, who will take on the lead role of Scrooge in the London debut of Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens’ Broadway production.
Other cast members include John Addison, Madalena Alberto, Hugh Maynard, Norman Bowman and Peter Polycarpou and the show will be backed by the 32-strong London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
Giovanna tweeted about the production and wrote: ”This is happening. I’ve not been on the west end stage for 8 years. I can’t wait! Thrilled I’ll be with @CarrieHFletcher #onenightonly (sic).”
And Carrie wrote: ”On Monday 19th December I shall be playing Emily in Alan Menken’s A Christmas Carol at the Lyceum!”
Carrie is also set to appear as Wednesday Addams in the UK premiere production of ‘The Addams Family Musical’ and has starred as Eponine in ‘Les Miserables’ and Truly Scrumptious in ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’.
