French Montana’s performance at the MTV EMAs was interrupted by a stage invader.
The 33-year-old hip hop artist was performing his track ‘Unforgettable’ at the awards ceremony at The SSE Arena in Wembley, north west London, when someone managed to get onto the stage and waved a banner around.
Once the stage invader was noted by security, they escorted him offstage but French Montana and Swae Lee seemed unaffected by the hiccup.
Elsewhere at the awards show, host Rita Ora wowed with performances of ‘Your Song’ and ‘Anywhere’ whilst Demi Lovato performed an amazing rendition of ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ and ‘Tell Me You Love Me’.
Clean Bandit was joined on stage by Sean Paul, Anne-Marie, Julia Michaels and Zara Larsson for ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Symphony’ whilst Travis Scott – who is dating Kylie Jenner – arrived on stage on top of a huge griffin-like creature.
David Guetta, Charli XCX and French Montana closed the EMAs with an energetic performance of ‘Dirty Sexy Money’.
During the show, Dua Lipa was honoured with the Best New Artist award and although she couldn’t be at the event, she took to Twitter to share her excitement.
She wrote on the social media site: ”BEST NEW AT THE MTV EMA’S!!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR VOTING FOR ME! WHAT A FAM I AM SO LUCKY!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH XXXX (sic)
Ed Sheeran won Best Live Act and Best Rock went to Coldplay.
