Following the huge success of his long-awaited new album Blonde earlier in 2016, the enigmatic star Frank Ocean has announced his first live dates in more than three years next summer, including a show at British festival Lovebox.
In what has been described as a “London exclusive” by Lovebox’s organisers, the 29 year old singer will perform his first British gig since 2013 on July 14th in the capital’s Victoria Park, in what will also be Ocean’s first ever British festival appearance.
Furthermore, Lovebox describes the performance as “one of his only two UK festivals this year” – hinting at an appearance elsewhere in the summer.

He will also be performing at Danish festival NorthSide on June 9th, which will represent his first live appearance of any description behind the album.
Although his second studio album Blonde, released in tandem with a visual album, Endless, went to the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic back in August, its author has remained comparatively quiet and had not announced any live dates in support of the critically lauded record.

However, in an interview with the New York Times earlier this month, Ocean suggested that some kind of announcement might be round the corner.
“I need to know how many records I’ve sold, how many album equivalents from streaming, which territories are playing my music more than others, because it helps me in conversations about where we’re gonna be playing shows,” he revealed in the discussion.
Blonde arrived after an excruciating wait of more than four years, and it featured fellow superstars such as Beyonce, Andre 3000, James Blake and Kendrick Lamar. It followed the similarly praised album Channel Orange, which was released back in 2012.
