Dan Stevens, his hair — or someone’s – considerably longer than his floppy Downton Abbey style, looks pretty charming in this set photo from Bill Condon’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast live-action film. Co-producer Jack Morrissey posted the photo on his Facebook page yesterday, noting that the reveal comes “One year to the day after the completion of principal photography,” and adding, “here is your very first look at Dan Stevens as the Prince/Beast.”
Morrissey also posted a couple other shots, including one of concept art of Lumière (voiced by Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Ian McKellen) that Morrissey warns might not be final.
Also posted was a frame of b-roll taken on the “Gaston” musical number, with Alexis Loizon-Officiel as Stanley, Josh Gad as LeFou and Luke Evans as Gaston.
Morrissey says the frames are taken from a “Sneak Peek” extra included on the 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray/DVD/Digital of Disney’s 1991 animated Beauty and the Beast, coming next month.
Condon’s version hits theaters March 17, 2017, and stars Emma Watson as Belle,
Stevens as The Beast, Evans, Gad, McKellen, McGregor, and Kevin Kline as Maurice, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, among the very large cast.
