But that’s not all that FX revealed during the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour. The network’s CEO John Landgraf also dropped some major Fargo season two scoop!
The second season will be set in the late 1970s, during Ronald Reagan‘s presidential campaign. And yes, Reagan himself will show up! Start brainstorming who should take on the presidential role…now.
Season two will be based on something Lou Solverson (Keith Carradine) mentioned in season one, starring Patrick Wilson as a younger version of Lou, and will deal with the decade’s cultural changes and issues, including the return from Vietnam, veterans and feminism. Expect to see strong female characters, like season one’s Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman).
Fargo‘s 10-episode second season is slated to premiere next fall with production beginning in Canada in January 2015. It will also star Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Ted Danson, Nick Offerman, Jean Smart, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine, Jeffrey Donovan and Angus Sampson.
