Always an avid advocate for Latino issues, Eva Longoria helped kick off the ALMA Awards Weekend with a swanky dinner at her West Hollywood restaurant Beso last night (October 10).
Joined by pals like Melanie Griffith, William H Macy and Terry Crews, the “Desperate Housewives” star’s Eva Longoria Foundation sponsored the event and of course Eva was gorgeous in a sexy black dress.
Of her organization, Eva previously explained, “The Eva Longoria Foundation focuses on Latinas and education and entrepreneurship. So there’s a huge educational gap into girls, young girls, reaching their full educational potential…my foundation wants to break that cycle of poverty and we do it with different programs.”
Earlier in the day, Longoria told MSNBC she’s not willing to let her fellow Latinos get apathetic about the upcoming midterm election- “I keep telling everybody our democracy is not a spectator sport. You have to participate. You can’t sit back and complain if you’re not going to participate in the process.”
