Erin Andrews Talks New ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Co-Host Role, After Replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet

New Dancing With The Stars’ co-host Erin Andrews is “just excited” to be returning to the show she was once a contestant on in 2010.

Erin Andrews states “I’m coming back home” after it was announced she will be the new co-host of ‘Dancing With The Stars’. It has only been a matter of days since news surfaced that Brooke Burke-Charvet, who has been co-hosting alongside Tom Bergeron since Season 10, was axed by ABC.

Now Andrews, who has been a sports broadcaster for Fox Sports since 2012, will return to the show she was once a contestant on to replace Burke-Charvet.

The 35 year-old, who danced with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy in season 10, spoke to People Magazine about her new duties and if the viewers will like the change.

“I don’t blame the audience at all. How could you?” she says, referring to outraged Burke-Charvet fans.

“I know that I have huge shoes to fill. I’m a fan of Brooke. She was very wonderful toward me in my season. She was so caring and so fantastic. I can only hope I can emulate somebody like that and use her for guidance,” she adds.

Lately Andrews has been very busy, firstly her NFL playoff interview with a very animated Richard Sherman made international headlines, then she worked the coveted Super Bowl game, in which all the while she was holding talks with ABC about ‘DWTS’.

“When they approached me, I really didn’t even know if it was going to be possible because I’m fully committed to Fox Sports. That’s my love,” she continues. Erin is also counting on being a former contestant on the show to really help her adjust to the new role.

“It obviously helps that I was a contestant on the show,” she says. “Even though I made it to the finals, I wasn’t that great. It was so difficult. I broke my foot, I hurt my back. I fought with Maks every other day. I was trying to be sexy when all I wanted to do is be the tomboy. I know what they’re going through.”

Andrews concludes, “Dancing has always been a family. I call it the Dancing with the Stars mafia. Once you’re in that mafia, you’re always in. It’s always so much of your life. I’m just excited to be coming home.”
