EXCLUSIVE: Los Angeles-based finance and distribution outfit 13 Films has hired former Endgame Entertainment head of business and legal affairs Greg Schenz as VP. The industry veteran will be tasked with spearheading the company’s expansion into producing both films and TV projects.
The new gig comes ahead of the American Film Market next month. 13 Films plans to board productions at earlier stages to work with producers and filmmakers to package and finance projects. On that front, it just came aboard Jane Millen, a crime thriller starring Olga Kurylenko from writer-director Cynthia Mort, where the company will produce, finance and handle sales for the pic as part of their AFM slate.
“We are ecstatic to have Greg formally join our team as we expand our operations to get involved with film and TV projects at early stages,” said 13 Films president Tannaz Anisi. “His background and understanding of complex financial, legal and business matters is essential to navigating this competitive world and we are delighted to have his insight and expertise.”
At Endgame, Schenz worked on such films as An Education, Looper, Freeheld and The Discovery. He also held posts at Intermedia and Beacon Pictures.
“I am excited to be part of a vibrant company as they expand their activities in the production of film and television,” Schenz said. “Being involved from the ground up gives us the edge to create content we know can work in the marketplace and continue our success.”
