The SAG-AFTRA National Board of Directors has extended its contract with David White who will remain the organization’s National Executive Director through October 11, 2020. The Board vote was unanimous, and effective immediately; the specific contract details are confidential.
“I want to thank President Carteris, our elected officers and national board of directors for their support. We are engaged in exciting, groundbreaking efforts to protect professionals worldwide who make a living in the entertainment and media industries, and I am thrilled to continue with this essential work,” said White in a statement. “It is a privilege to lead a staff of such exceptional talent and I look forward to the next four years of being a member of their team.”
White has served as executive director and chief negotiator of SAG-AFTRA since 2012, and served in the same role for SAG prior to the merger with AFTRA from 2009-2012. He served as general counsel to the guild from 2002-2006 and was a labor and employment attorney at O’Melveny & Myers LLP before joining the executive ranks of SAG.
