Comedy Central has put in development a brothers comedy series co-written, executive produced and staring Zack Pearlman (The Intern, Mulaney) and Julian Sergi (War Dogs, Key & Peele).
Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine Nine, Community) will co-write the script with Pearlman and Sergi. Payman Benz (Last Man on Earth, Key & Peele) is set to direct the potential pilot and executive produces along with Principato-Young Entertainment.
The show centers on brothers, George and Calvin, (Pearlman and Sergi) who, in rejecting their racist upbringing, flee the Midwest to South Central L.A. and attempt a new life with George’s African American girlfriend and her nerdy brother.
Pearlman can next be seen in Why Him? opposite Bryan Cranston and James Franco, and he also recently booked a recurring role on the upcoming seventh season of Showtime drama series Shameless. Sergi appears in War Dogs opposite Jonah Hill and Miles Teller. Benz directs Fox’s live-action/animated comedy series Son of Zorn.
PYE’s upcoming productions include Netflix’s Futile and Stupid Gesture.
Pearlman and Benz are repped by UTA and PYE. Sergi is repped by PYE. Guest is repped by UTA and Mosaic.
