Host of Comedy Central’s late-night show @midnight Chris Hardwick gave huge props to the TV Academy for spitting the Creative Arts Emmy Awards into two nights for the first time. “Way thumbs-up,” he exclaimed backstage, though of course we still have one night to go.
“They did such an amazing job of streamlining the show this year and the process. Last year… by the end of the show a lot of people have left. This year the seats were full the entire time and it was a really beautiful show,” he said. “I really hope people watch it when it airs.”
FXX will broadcast the two-night awards show on Saturday, September 17, the night before the Primetime Emmys on ABC.
Among the highlights tonight, he said, “I got to talk to Bob Newhart which was great,” and he touched Max Von Sydow.
“Such an amazing experience top to bottom!”
Hardwick’s show was among those that took home an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement In Interactive Media — a juried award.
