The R&B singer will remain behind bars for at least one month.
Chris Brown’s legal wows just keep getting worse.
The 24 year-old has been ordered to remain in prison for at least a month following his arrest last week for violating parole.
Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin cited the singer’s “inability to stay out of trouble” as the reason to keep him behind bars for the time being.
Brown, who appeared in court Monday (March 17th) in an orange jumpsuit, was taken away in handcuffs while his mother cried, according to ABC News.
The ‘F.A.M.E.’ hit maker was arrested on Friday for violating his parole that stems from a 2009 assault charge, where he beat up his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown has been a resident in a Malibu rehabilitation facility for the past four months, but after being kicked out, local police arrested him and took him to the Inmate Reception Center at the L.A. County Jail.
The judge noted that the singer was kicked out of the facility for “rubbing elbows” with a female and for not completing a drug test. He also allegedly threatened the other residents by telling them, “I am good at using guns and knives,” the judge said.
Brown was ordered to spend 90 days in rehab for anger management, and he completed this course earlier in the month.
However, in the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ singer’s last court hearing the judge ordered him back to the facility until his next court hearing on April 23rd, but now he wil remain in jail until this date.
During his time at the treatment facility doctors have closely examined Brown and in last months’ probation report, it was revealed he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, severe insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The ‘Fortune’ hit maker was reportedly meant to stay in the Malibu facility until his lawyers attempted to resolve his Washington DC assault case, which stems from last October (2013). The incident occurred outside the W Hotel on K Street around 4.30am, where Brown supposedly attacked a man after shouting gay slurs and jumping into a photograph with the singer.
It was this arrest that forced the judge to revoke Brown’s probation and send him to rehab.
