Charlie Corwin, who just stepped down as co-CEO of Endemol Shine North America, is in advanced negotiations to join Imagine Entertainment, according to sources. His exact role at the company still is being worked out, with CEO as a possibility.
Corwin’s hire is part of a ramp-up of Imagine’s executive ranks as partners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are looking to build a big independent studio with the $100 million investment the company received from Raine Group.
Corwin and now-full Endemol CEO Cris Abrego were appointed co-CEOs of Endemol Shine North America in October 2014, and they added oversight of the Latin America division in January when they were named co-chairmen of Endemol Shine Americas. They arrived after selling their respective companies to Endemol. Corwin, whose move to Imagine was first reported by Variety, co-founded and led Original Media as its CEO until Endemol acquired a majority stake in November 2007.
