EXCLUSIVE: Candice Bergen and Masters of Sex‘s Michael Sheen are joining Reese Witherspoon in the indie Home Again, a comedy written and to be directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, daughter of director Nancy Meyers.
The story follows a recently separated mother of two (Witherspoon) whose new life in Los Angeles is turned upside down when she decides to take in three young men. Meyers will produce the film with financier Black Bicycle Entertainment and BBE’s Erika Olde.
The film is set to go before the cameras in L.A. in November. Sheen will play Witherspoon’s ex-husband in the film and Bergen portrays her mother.
Sheen, probably best known now for playing Dr. William Masters in Showtime’s Masters of Sex, also played David Frost in Frost/Nixon and is a classically trained Welsh actor from London who burst on the scene stateside on stage in Amadeus. He has both the criticially acclaimed Nocturnal Animals and Passengers (opposite Jennifer Lawrence) coming up this fall.
Bergen (Murphy Brown, Boston Legal, Carnal Knowledge) will next be seen in Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply, which will be released around Thanksgiving.
Sheen is repped by ICM Partners, Roxane Vacca in the UK and Tammy Rosen of Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management. Bergen is represented by ICM Partners.
