Four months after his relationship with Taylor Swift suddenly fell apart, Calvin Harris has finally addressed the break-up in a new interview for GQ magazine, for whom he is the cover star of its next edition.
On the same week that he won the GQ Award for Solo Artist of the Year in the magazine’s Men of the Year edition, 32 year old Harris has reflected that the disintegration of his 15-month romance with the pop star attracted far more headlines than their actual relationship ever did.

“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly,” the superstar DJ mused. “The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself.”
However, this was a result of his and Swift’s decision to keep their privacy as protected as feasibly possible. “When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus,” he said. “She respected my feelings in that sense.”

In May this year, their relationship ended and, shortly after, 26 year old Swift was regularly photographed in the grips of feverish romance with English actor Tom Hiddleston. Harris got his head down and continued with his busy schedule of festivals over the summer, though the occasional outburst on social media revealed his feelings.
Fast forward to September, and the latest reports are claiming that Hiddleston’s been Swiftly dumped (arf!) while Harris has been rumoured to be dating Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez.
Accepting his award at the GQ event on Tuesday night (September 6th), which he was given after a short speech by long-time collaborator Ellie Goulding, Harris said: “I feel at 32 I’m nearing the end. Just kidding… This week ten years ago was when I left Marks & Spencer Simply food in Clapham South where I carried out such tasks as date-rotating sandwiches and telling old ladies where we moved the salmon.”
