Bastards poses a simple question: Who’s the real father of brothers Ed Helms and Owen Wilson? In the duo’s latest R-rated Warner Bros/Alcon road comedy, the answer could be a tattooed J.K. Simmons (“No way those two jackasses are my kids!”), Ving Rhames (he says he just cuddled with their mom, played by Glenn Close) or Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw. “She had a set of knockers … nearly cost us the Super Bowl,” Bradshaw tells Wilson & Helms about their characters’ mom. Welcome to the first trailer for Bastards.

BASTARDS

Warner Bros Pictures

Justin Malen, the screenwriter behind two hot upcoming features, Paramount’s Baywatch and DreamWorks’ co-production Office Christmas Party, also penned this big-screen pairing of Wilson and Helms. Lawrence Sher, the DP on such Todd Phillips titles as War Dogs, Due Date and The Hangover series, makes his directorial debut here with Bastards. Originally scheduled to battle against Disney/Marvel’s Doctor Strange on November 4, Warners gave Bastards some breathing room by moving it to January 27, where it has a better chance of hooking older males.

Katt Williams, June Squibb and Kate Aselton co-star in the film. Have a look at the trailer and tell us what you think.
