The 42-year-old appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (14Oct16) to promote her new sci-fi movie Arrival, and she exclusively revealed details of the upcoming Disney sequel.
Amy played Giselle in the animated and live-action 2007 movie, alongside Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Susan Sarandon.
“They’re starting to develop Enchanted 2. It’s called Disenchanted, They’ve got a director and they are developing a script. I’m hoping I am in it,” she said. “I’m not going to let anyone else play Giselle!”
Despite being an award-winning actress, Amy revealed her daughter Aviana, who she shares with husband Darren Le Gallo, is not impressed with her Hollywood career.
“She doesn’t care,” joked Jeremy Renner, Amy’s co-star in Arrival.
“I’m momma to her, she doesn’t think of me as an actress at all. She makes fun of me for it. Like, when I FaceTime her, she’s like, ‘Oh my God, it’s Amy Adams!'” she shared.
However, Amy did manage to impress her daughter with her secret talent of being able to cry on cue. “(My 6-year-old daughter and I) were talking about what I do for a living and I was explaining that I make believe – like when she plays,” she recalled. “She’s like, ‘Can you make yourself laugh?’ I said yes. She’s like, ‘Can you make yourself cry?’ I said yeah. She goes, ‘Do it!’ We made up a story – I’ve done it before for people.”
And without any prompting, the Man of Steel star began to cry while telling a story about a Sriracha hot sauce plant shutting down.
“It’s really weird,” she explained. “Everyone’s like completely weirded out and like, ‘I don’t trust her at all!'”
Arrival is slated for release on 11 November (16).
