Amanda Seyfried has always been ”scared s**tless” about performing on stage.
The ‘Les Miserables’ actress – who signed up to appear in ‘The Shape of Things’ in 2013 but the production was cancelled – is set to make her off-Broadway debut in ‘The Way We Get By’ opposite Thomas Sadoski and though she has auditioned in the past, she has always been wary of working in theatre.
She said: ”I always wanted to be up there.
”I wanted to do something else last year that ended up not happening.
”It was one of those things I kept putting off because I was scared s**tless.
”I never really felt ready for it until now. This is for me.”
With just over a month before the play previews, the 29-year-old beauty is still not over her fears of the stage.
She admitted: ”It makes me nervous to even think about it.”
Though she has sung and danced in movies ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Mamma Mia!’, Amanda insists she wouldn’t be disciplined enough for musical theatre.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: ”Ugh, no, I can’t live like a singer.
”I love to sing — but not for work. Unless it’s a movie where you can put it all down in the recording studio and then forget about it.”
