Some more important details of the most eagerly awaited album of the year have arrived today. Adele has confirmed the release date of her third LP 25 as November 20th, while also dropping the album’s first single ‘Hello’ today and revealing the record’s artwork!
The singer, now 27, appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw to debut the new single in full, and confessed to feeling more than a little apprehensive about it being played for the fist time. “I feel so sick. I’m so nervous… I obviously want people to like it,” she said. “I knew this would be the first thing everyone heard from me.”
On Wednesday (October 21st) Adele had explained briefly about the themes of 25 via her Facebook page: “My last record was a break up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”

“Hello, it’s me / I was wondering if after all these years / you’d like to meet to go over everything / they say that time’s supposed to heal ya / but I ain’t done much healing…” go the lyrics to ‘Hello’, leaving many to ponder whether Adele would be channelling the same heartbreak that made 21 so compelling.
Adele also spoke about how she’s adapted to international fame and fortune, with 21 becoming one of the biggest selling albums of all time over the last four years. “I find fame quite frightening and I find it really toxic. It’s very charming and it’s very persuasive but it doesn’t last so why would you want to get involved in something that you will miss so much when it’s gone – and it always goes.”
She has endeavoured to keep her private life as protected from media penetration as possible, for the sake of her boyfriend Simon Konecki and their 3 year old son Angelo. She said: “I like the way I’ve lived my life and that’s why I’ll keep on living it that way. I get to live my life and do normal things because of it.”
