The Venezuelan beauty, 35, reveals she was inspired to come up with her own designs after struggling to find off-the-rack items to fit her curves.
Describing her shopping struggles, she says, “I think it costs us Latin women more to buy clothes because they’re made for very slim women… You have to buy bigger sizes and have the clothes tailored to accommodate you.”
Marjorie’s debut collection, which is expected to go on sale in 2016, will be aimed at her fellow Latinas, but she is also planning to expand into menswear in the near future.
She isn’t the first Latina to branch out into the clothing industry – Belinda is working on her own collection, while Jennifer Lopez and Thalia have also previously found success in fashion.
