How exactly does one prepare for New York Fashion Week?
Well, if you’re Jaime King, you enlist the help of such pros like celeb hairstylist Marc Mena. The actress paired her floor-length, A-line white dress and oversized fur with sleek, chic waves. Now E! Style Collective’s resident hair genius is here to share how it’s done.
“Jaime’s fashion choice for the Yeezy Season 3 show was the perfect mix of boho and high fashion, so we wanted to bring that out in her hair too,” said Marc. “I didn’t want to create a normal wave, so we collaborated and came up with a new and fresh look that played well with the vibe of show.”
Babylights: Does This Hair-Coloring Trend Make You Look Younger?
Step 1: Start by prepping wet hair with Kerastase Resistance Mousse Volumifique from root to end.
Step 2: Blow-dry hair straight using a Mason Pearson paddle brush.
Step 3: Once hair is straight, make a middle part.
Step 4: From that middle part, make two small sections (about 2 inches back from the hairline) at each ear.

Step 5: Slick the sections back into a ponytail behind the rest of your hair using Keratin Complex High Shine Pomade, securing with a clear elastic to give your look a sleek tension.
Step 6: Use TRESemme Extra Hold Non-Aerosol Hairspray to set the rest of your hair.
Step 7: Start “curling” the hair using a ¾-inch curling iron (must be an iron and not a wand) about 4 inches out from the root in a zigzag or figure-8 motion, going around both the wand and clamp of the curling iron; which creates a square-wave effect.

Step 8: Only curl the shaft of the hair, leaving about an inch at the bottom straight.
Step 9: Once done, use Warren-Tricomi Flexible Hair Spray and brush out hair using your paddle brush.
Step 10: Finish the look with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray.
