Tina Turner has announced that a musical based on her life is currently in the works.
The ‘Proud Mary’ singer revealed on Friday that she’s been working on the musical for over a year now and recently attended workshops in London.
A Tina Turner musical is coming to the West End
In a statement, Turner said: “We have been working on the musical for over a year now and today I am delighted to be able to share our news as we begin the next chapter of our journey.
“It has been wonderful to collaborate with Katori and Phyllida and to have my story nurtured by such an amazing creative team is thrilling,” she continued. “London has always had a very special place in my heart and it’s wonderful to be back.”

Turner’s life was previously the subject of 1993 movie What’s Love Got to Do With It, which starred Angela Bassett as the legendary singer.
