As usual, ABC is picking up 1-2 additional episodes of its Tuesday and Wednesday comedy series that already have full-season 22-episode orders. The list includes promising freshmen American Housewife and Speechless, as well as Fresh Off the Boat and veteran The Middle — each producing an extra episode for a total of 23 — as well as award contender Black-ish and new Wednesday 8 PM anchor The Goldbergs, each picked up for two additional episodes or a 24 total.

The only Tuesday/Wednesday ABC comedy with a full-season order that is not on the list is flagship, Emmy-winning Modern Family, which, starting in Season 7 began producing regular-sized seasons of 22 episodes vs. 24 for Seasons 1-6. It will again stick with 22 episodes in its current eighth season. (Tuesday comedy The Real O’Neals received a partial back order for a 16-episode second season.)
