It was a rosy Day 1 for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast trailer. The studio says it racked up 127.6 million online views worldwide in its first 24 hours, topping the record of 114 million set by the Fifty Shades Darker clip in September.
The studio said Facebook accounted for 29 million trailer views, fueled by 27 million on star Emma Watson’s page alone. She plays Belle in the live-action film, which also stars Dan Stevens as the Beast along with Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Kevin Kline, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald. It hits U.S. theaters on March 17.
