The National Association of Television Program Executives has expanded its 2017 conference, announcing three initiatives as well as new keynote speakers for the event happening January 17-19 in Miami at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach and neighboring Eden Roc Resort.
ASCAP President/Chairman and Grammy-winning songwriter Paul Williams will headline NATPE Music, a new initiative exploring the vital longstanding link between TV and music. The iconic “Rainbow Connection” cowriter will appear along with A-List musicians, songwriters, publishers, producers, supervisors and executives at the forefront of the music industry to offer insight into the places where television and music meet.
Meanwhile, Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs and Head of Market Development for Facebook Matt Jacobson will headline NATPE Scripted, a new set of sessions examining what goes into the creation of engaging stories. The pair will hold a joint conversation as the centerpiece of the track, which will also gather top-tier creators and executives from around the world to
Rounding out the new tracks is the NATPE Station Group Summit, recognizing industry executives who have led the transition of NATPE into a multiplatform industry association. The summit centerpiece will be a State of the Industry curated by Emerson Coleman, Vice President, Programming, Hearst-Argyle Television, and Sean Compton, President of Strategic Programming and Acquisitions, Tribune Media.
